Ahead of the 2026 Flagship Event, H2eart for Europe has published a new position paper setting out the priorities to ensure that Europe has the underground hydrogen storage (UHS) it needs for a resilient, flexible and integrated energy system.
Regulatory uncertainty and the absence of dedicated frameworks can significantly delay project development, risking a bottleneck in the timely deployment of hydrogen infrastructure required for the energy transition.
Action is needed now: de-risking underground hydrogen storage investment is critical to unlocking an effective European hydrogen system. Today, H2eart for Europe has published a new position paper setting out why de-risking underground hydrogen storage (UHS) should be a regulatory and policy priority at both Member State and EU level.
